Cardiff Metropolitan University is a non-profit public university established in 2011 in the city of Cardiff, Wales. It offers higher education in several areas of study. The university is officially recognized by the Privy Council. It was awarded as the Welsh University of the year 2021 by the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021. It has been ranked 801 of world universities by Times Higher Education (THE) 2020. The university is dedicated to ensuring that every student fulfills their potential to make outstanding intellectual contributions to the present and future generations. It was once a school of art named Cardiff School of Art, founded in 1865. Three more institutions sprang up from the same origin and later in 1976 it all combined to form South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education which then became University of Wales, Cardiff, before becoming Cardiff Metropolitan University. It is located in the city of Cardiff, Wales
