Founded in 1953, Beijing Sport University, formerly known as the Central Institute of Physical Education, was renamed as Beijing Sport University in 1956, renamed as Beijing Sport University in 1993, under the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China. It is one of the first batch of national key universities, key universities of the National "211 Project", the first batch of national first-class discipline construction universities, and has been selected into the "Discipline Innovation and Talent Introduction Plan of Colleges and Universities" "National Construction of High level University Public Postgraduate Program", "National New Engineering Research and Practice Program", and "Chinese Government Scholarship Receiving Institutions for International Students in China". The school now has four departments, namely, Sports and Health Department, Humanities and Social Sciences Department, Olympic Sports Department and Sports Engineering Department. Relying on the international education platform, the university has coordinated high-quality international education resources, established an all-round international cooperation training mechanism from undergraduate to graduate students, and constantly improved the internationalization level of talent training.
