Nanchang Hangkong University (NCHU), established in 1952, is located in Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province. Spanning over 3,500 mu across three campuses, NCHU is an engineering-focused, multidisciplinary institution that fosters balanced development across fields such as engineering, science, humanities, management, economics, law, education, and art. It is among the six earliest aeronautical and astronautical universities in New China and is authorized to grant doctoral degrees. The university comprises 22 schools, one independent college, and a college dedicated to the aeronautical manufacturing industry. It offers 17 master's degree programs for first-level disciplines, 14 professional master's programs, and 71 undergraduate majors. Among these, 21 are national first-class specialty construction programs, 5 are state-level featured majors, and 1 is a state-level comprehensive reform pilot project. Thirteen majors have passed the Ministry of Education's engineering education certification, and two have passed evaluations by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. NCHU has over 2,100 faculty and staff, including 1,600 full-time teachers, more than 700 of whom are professors and associate professors, and over 600 master’s supervisors. The university currently hosts more than 27,000 full-time students, including over 23,000 undergraduates and more than 4,400 master’s students. Emphasizing the development of key disciplines, NCHU has established a postdoctoral research workstation—the Jiangxi Testing Technology and Control Engineering Research Center—and a postdoctoral innovation practice base—the Jiangxi Aviation Materials Engineering Technology Research Center. The university also houses a state-level engineering laboratory, a state-level engineering research center, 39 provincial (ministerial)-level key laboratories and research centers, and several experimental teaching demonstration centers at both the national and provincial levels. Notably, the disciplines of materials science, engineering, and chemistry rank in the top 0.6% globally in ESI rankings, placing them among international high-level disciplines. NCHU actively pursues international cooperation and education. It runs Sino-foreign cooperative education programs with several overseas universities, involving more than 1,500 students. As one of the universities authorized by the Ministry of Education of China to enroll international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship Program, NCHU has gained repeated recognition for excellence in its international student programs. The university currently hosts over 200 international students from 42 countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Morocco, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia. English-taught programs are available in Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, and Business Administration, along with Master’s degree programs taught in English. To support talented students, NCHU offers a variety of scholarships, including the Chinese Government Scholarship, the Jiangxi Provincial Government Scholarship, and the NCHU Scholarship for International Students. NCHU warmly welcomes international students from all over the world to join its diverse and dynamic academic community.
