Yangtze Normal University (YZNU), is a public institution with a long history dating back to 1931. As an application-oriented university with strong teacher-education roots, YZNU has developed into a comprehensive institution offering 55–56 undergraduate majors across disciplines such as education, sciences, engineering, economics, management, and the arts. The university has around 22,000 full-time students and more than 1,300 faculty members, including nearly 600 with senior academic titles and over 400 holding doctoral degrees. YZNU emphasizes applied learning and regional service, supported by modern teaching facilities, well-equipped laboratories, extensive training centers, and nearly 300 internship bases that strengthen students’ practical skills. Research capacity continues to grow, with over 26 provincial and ministerial research platforms, several first-class national and municipal programs, and annual research funding exceeding 100 million RMB.
