About

Ningxia University (宁夏大学, NXU) is a co‑constructed public university, jointly supported by the Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It was founded in 1958, and in December 1997 merged with the former Ningxia Institute of Technology and Yinchuan Teachers College (which included Ningxia Institute of Education), and then in February 2002 merged with Ningxia Agricultural University to form its present structure. Located in the historic and scenic city of Yinchuan, the university now covers about 3,084.8 mu of campus. Over more than six decades, NXU has upheld the motto “尚德、勤学、求是、创新” (“Uphold morality, study diligently, seek truth, innovate”) and continues to promote the “oleaster‑tree spirit” of perseverance and rooted strength. In recent years, the university has leveraged strategic opportunities such as provincial-ministerial co‑construction, the “Mid-West Universities Comprehensive Strength Enhancement Project,” its selection into the “Double First-Class” initiative, and the “department-district joint construction” program. These efforts have driven its development into a well-rounded, comprehensive university with coordinated strengths across science, engineering, agriculture, economics, management, humanities, law, and the arts.

Why choose this university?
1. Strong focus on academic disciplines such as chemical engineering and technology, ethnology, and grass science.
2. Wide range of academic programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels.
