Beijing University of Information Science and Technology (BUIT) is a key university in Beijing with engineering as the main body, coordinated development of six disciplines including engineering, management, science, economics, literature and law, and the most complete information disciplines. It was the first batch of authorized units for master's degree in 1981. It has the qualification to recommend students to study for master's degree without examination, and enrolls students in 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) across the country. In the 84 year long history of running a school, it has formed distinctive information features, industry features and military industry features. The school is the only municipal university in the "6+1" university town of Shahe Higher Education Park. The new campus is located in Zhongguancun National Engineering Technology Innovation Base, adjacent to China Mobile International Information Port.
