About

Nanjing University of Information Engineering is a national "double first-class" university and a high-level university in Jiangsu Province. The university was founded in 1960 and was born in response to the needs of the national strategy and national economic construction of New China. It is subordinate to the Central (Military Commission) Meteorological Bureau, formerly known as the School of Meteorology of Nanjing University. It was established independently in 1963 as the Nanjing Institute of Meteorology. It was listed as a national key university in 1978 and renamed as the Nanjing University of Information Engineering in 2004. Since 2007, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province, the China Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Education and the State Oceanic Administration have jointly built the project. Now it is a central and local co built university mainly managed by Jiangsu Province.

Why choose this university?
