About

The nursing major of Yangzhou university originated from the northern Jiangsu Health School in 1950. In 1951, it was merged with Shanghai private Huisheng senior midwifery vocational school. In 1984, it was upgraded to Yangzhou medical college; In 1992, it was merged into Yangzhou university. In 1999, the province took the lead in cultivating four-year nursing undergraduate students. In July 2016, the department of nursing set up a nursing college separately from the medical school. At present, there are 229 undergraduate students and 204 master students. On June 16, 2021, the School of Public Health was established and co-organized with the School of Nursing. After the co-organization, it was named “School of Nursing·School of Public Health, Yangzhou University”. Two undergraduate majors in Preventive Medicine and Food Hygiene and Nutrition have been approved. This is a major move to actively respond to the national strategy of “New Medical Science” construction, to cultivate the high-level innovative professionals in the field of public health.
