The School of Biotechnology at Jiangnan University is well known for its basic research for application and applied research as well as its close collaborations with industry in China and around the world. The school has six research directions including fermented foods, enzymes, organic acids, amino acids, biofuels, and carbohydrates. Three industry centers (enzyme center, amino acid center, and organic acid center) and two national laboratories (national engineering laboratory and key national laboratory) are operated by the school. The school will expand its collaborations with local and international universities and institutions and also enterprises for related translational and applied research. In general, the School of Biotechnology in Jiangnan university will devote its all efforts to establishing itself as a world-recognized school by reinforcing its basic and applied research capacities.
